One of the most important questions one faces in becoming a Reiki practitioner is: What will I do with this gift I've received? Very closely bound up with this question is whether you will earn some, or all, of your living through Reiki.

There are a couple rules floating around which people discuss in regard to the money issue. This is a very valuable discussion which goes to fundamental truths of Western Society. These principles, for they are not Universal Truths but instead the Principles of Man, have to do with the role of money and thereby with how Value is determined in Western Society. Value here in this society is based in money, the more money is paid the more valuable something is. Hence the jokes about charging for air; Something that's so valuable yet cannot be charged for.

Give it away. "Do not charge for healing, but offer it for free to all who ask. Does the sun charge you money to enjoy the sunshine?" This teaching comes from many sources, but the primary role model is the lifestyle which Jesus the Christ presented to us. That of a wandering Healer, floating upon the streams of fate, trusting that the Universe will provide for his needs so long as he stays pure in his intent and the performance of the work of Healer.

The theory is that the energy is freely available so how can one charge for it? That the client does the real work, not the healer, so how can one honestly charge for it? That the healers total involvement is that of a channel, and that Reiki works best when the healer is totally out of the way, so how can one honestly charge for it?

Yes the energy is freely available, but does that make any difference?

To become a healer you have spent lots of time learning the art. You have gone through lots of self healing, crying your eyes out in front of strangers, and maybe felt you were going to die from the pain inside you. You have spent money on books, trainings, and even those random journeys meant to get you away so that Spirit has an easier time talking with you. There were no (physical) guidance counselors guiding you through well known paths. There weren't even paths to follow except those which you (and your spiritual guidance) made for yourself. You're putting your livelihood at the mercy of the universe, trusting these skills of healing to earn your way through life.

The reality of this world is that to live here requires money. Money 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There are bureaucrats in the governments whose job is to figure out how much money each person provides to the "economy". To many people, the value you present is in how well dressed you are, whether you drive a Mercedes, in short how much money you have.

Practically speaking, one must have money to eat every day. If you spend your day healing people, then how are you to hold a regular job to bring in the money? Are you to spend your days with this regular job, and the rest of your time healing the Sick and Poor? If so then what of time for yourself, your own healing and your well being?

And where will you perform your Healing practice? Do you rent an office space somewhere? Won't your landlord expect money for that? Or if you devote space in your home, shouldn't you factor some percentage of your rent or mortgage?

If this society did not require money then the answer would be a resounding GIVE IT AWAY. Unfortunately this world demands its daily tithing, which must come from somewhere.

CHARGE IT! Okay, so what can be said now? It's pretty obvious one should charge for Reiki, right? After all how is its worth going to be known unless the client pays for it?

The theory about charging is exactly that. This society puts value on that for which it pays out cold hard currency, and very little else.

What, then, is the worth of a baby's smile? Or a nice warm day lazing in the park watching the clouds float by? The value of True Love (as opposed to that which one finds cheaply dressed on seedier street corners)? Why should a marraige continue past its time just because one or both partners fear for money? That's not love, marraige was only meant to honor Love, not Money. Money is the human constructed value system while Love is Gods value system, and it says a lot about this society that such questions are even asked.

Gods values are those of a newborn baby. What a newborn baby wants is Love and Attention. Soiling diapers is simply one way of getting Love and Attention.

Metaphysical Laws. Somewhere between these two extremes is a middle ground. That of Universal Truth. The Truth active in this discussion is that of the Exchange of Energy. Namely that money is symbolic of Energy and that there's something akin to the "You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" which monkeys are often seen doing. The client comes along wanting healing. The exchange of healing energy for money is then nothing more than an exchange of favors. This exchange is very important to do since otherwise one is forking out their energy with nothing coming back, eventually comes burn out and then what?

In fact one of the mistakes people often make is the reason they have for doing something. Frequently work is done because of the money reward at the end. Not for the joy of doing, nor for the beauty of what is being created. But soley because there is this money beckoning them onward. This is an ego trip and is thus not part of Gods plan.

The exchange of energy need not be money if exchanges of money offend you. The exchange can be many things. Services (cleaning house, massage, etc), food (cooking dinner, garden produce, etc), or things (making clothes, books, paying rent, etc). You can charge a sliding scale depending on the ability of the client to pay, or charge subject to your inner selfs leading.

Examine your conscience. When you ponder healing (or any) work what do you think about? Does your mind fly flights of fancy with ogling crowds being wowed by your feats as a Healer? Or do you instead feel satisfaction at the people whose lives are bettered by your loving presence? What difference do you see in what is created by one who is in it for the money versus one who is there for the joy and beauty of what they are creating?

So there you have it, both sides of the money issue. How does one survive on Love alone? How do you put a price on Gods Love?

Deciding how the Reiki practitioner approaches his or her Calling to Heal is an individual choice. The money issue is no more one for which a hard and firm answer can be presented than any other issue which the Reiki practitioner faces. The preceeding is presented to stimulate thought and reflection.

We leave you with one other thought. Your world is in need of more healers. This is why you are being called to Healing. The world does not need sick or burned out healers who can no longer function in Healing. Keeping yourself in working order is best not only for the world, but for your own growth and healing. If you spend this lifetime burning yourself out you'll just spend other lifetimes presented with the same issue until you learn the lesson.

Angelic Initiation

What are Angels?

Angels are messengers. They are messengers from spirit allowing us a greater understanding and connection to Spirit. The word angel comes from Angelos which is the Greek word for messenger. Not only are angels messengers, they are also part of our consciousness, representing realms beyond thought and ideas.

Angels appear in different forms. Though it seems to be a rare occurrence, the form that most people associate with angels is the traditional church angels with wings. More common however, are angels appearing in human form. These angels appear when needed and then sometimes mysteriously disappear.

How can you recognize an angel?

Though the numbers of occurrences of angelic visitations is growing rapidly, most angels aren’t seen but are felt. There are different ways to tell if you are in the presence of an angel. Often the pure scent of flowers accompanies their presence. Sometimes an angel will announce its presence with a slight breeze even if all the windows are closed. The breeze is the flutter of angel wings. Sometimes you’ll hear the faint sound of bells or chimes or trumpets. I believe that the reason for the sound is that when angels break from their dimension into ours there is an accompanying sound. Sometimes an angelic presence is seen as a flash of light but the most common way to tell if you are in the presence of angels is by the warm wave of love that washes over you. If you feel an angel is standing behind you, it most likely is.

How can you ‘call’ angels into your life?

To call angels into your life, simply ask! Angels respond to prayers and thoughts of love. they are only a whisper away. The more you think about angels, the more you call them into your life. Some people find it helpful to have pictures or statues of angels within their home as this assists them to focus on angels. Where intention goes energy flows. As you put your attention on angels they will begin to appear in your life.

BODHISATTVA LADY MASTER KWAN YIN

Kwan Yin is an Ascended Being. She is known as the Goddess of Mercy. She directs the Flame of Mercy and Compassion and her services to mankind are Mercy and Healing. She is one of those in charge of directing the healing activity to mankind on earth.

Kwan Yin is a member of the Karmic Board. Lord Gautama (Buddha) was her Master. Legend says that she lived in a human form for one thousand years before ascending. She received the Crown of Chohan of the Seventh Ray for the two thousand year cycle, fourteen thousand years ago. She remained in this position until 1954 when Saint Germain took over the chohanship.

Kwan Yin's electronic pattern is the Five-Petaled Lotus. Her Ray is the Violet Flame of Christ Consciousness.

Magnified Healing is the name chosen by Kwan Yin for this modality. She is the spokesperson for the Hierarchy in bringing it forth at this time. Kwan Yin emphasizes that She is not the originator of this healing. It is a gift from God.

What is Reiki Energy Healing?

Reiki is a Japanese word that is translated as healing energy, life energy or sometimes universal life energy and is pronounced "raykee". Reiki is a flow of energy, channeled by the Reiki healer, that benefits all levels of mental, physical and emotional experience.

Reiki works from the outside in, addressing disturbances in the subtle energy bodies and moving into the physical body over a three day period. Reiki restores order and balance to the energy body. It calms the mind and stabilizes the emotions. Reiki is energy healing and not to be confused with spiritual healing.

How Does A Reiki Treatment Feel?

Most people report feeling calm, relaxed, warm and sometimes tingly. Often, people report an increased sense of well-being. Some people don't seem to feel much at all, the first time. Never the less, Reiki energy is at work and positive results occur.

Some people have had complete relief from an illness or pain with one or two treatment while others receive and practice Reiki over a period of weeks without receiving complete healing. Reiki Healing is not intended to replace medical treatment, nor is it a miracle cure.

What Reiki can do for you is to liberate yourself of the negative energies that keep your body tight and hard to move, called stress or pains. Reiki works at several planes, so much the physicist, the emotional, the spiritual one.
The results can feel because the sensation of peace that originates in the body, is so healthy, that then you would like to return to take Reiki's meeting. When the body feels comfortable, it asks for Reiki and its energy of love.

There is a lot of information about Reiki in the web. This one is the way in which feel the energy that is Reiki and the form in which it can be beneficial. In addition, Reiki can help you to passing periods of low energy or depletion, recovering the vitality in only 50 min. MariEL is a heart-centered hands-on healing technique introduced in 1983 by its creator, Ethel Lombardi, an international healer/teacher and Reiki Master taught by Mrs. Hawayo Takata of the Usui Reiki tradition. MariEL is the essence of the Feminine and was brought into existence in an effort to balance the patriarchal energy dominating Mother Earth and her people. The energy of MariEL probes to the core of the soul and facilitates the release, at a cellular level, of old blockages, patterns, memories, traumas and pain.

The theory behind MariEL healing is that every cell in our body has a memory. A stored memory of a negative emotional or physical experience blocks the flow of energy. MariEL healing releases these memories. The creator of MariEL healing, Ethel Lombardi, is a Reiki Master and teacher. There is an obvious similarity between a MariEL healing and a Reiki healing. A MariEL healing usually takes more than an hour. After preparing, the healer channels energy to the client in a Reiki fashion, hands on. Or, if so desired, with the hands a little distance away from the body. This prepares the body to be ready to release memories of trauma or pain.

The energy that is being used is very loving and gentle. After that the healer goes to various areas on the body to "pull out", after the client gives the cells in that area permission to let go of all the negative memories.

A MariEL healing is very gentle. It works with the client, so that it will never do more than the person can handle. Sometimes that can be considerable, sometimes it is more subtle. MariEL healing can be beneficial for emotional as well as physical problems. Nobody is the same and an event can affect people very differently. The less negative memories there are, the more direct the effect of just one healing will be. A happy person without obvious complaints can also benefit. See it as a spring cleaning on the inside. If there is a lot to be released, it might require more than one session.
Follow-up MariEL sessions can be done for probing to a deeper level of cellular memory and healing of the emotional body. This process may require one or several visits, depending on the energy blocks and the body's determination to let go and move on through these blockages. The results of the healings in this case might be more subtle and take longer, but can be very profound. A person feels intuitively if and when it is time for another MariEL healing. It is good to take some quiet time after the healing.

An initial MariEL healing session is usually one and a half hours in length; a half hour of intake time and an hour in which the recipient lies fully clothed, warm and comfortable, on a treatment table. A dialoguing occurs when information about the emotional body is revealed and core issues are encouraged, by means of visualization and healing touch, to be released from the cellular structure in which these memories reside. The love and compassion of the feminine essence allow the process to be a safe, gentle and transformative adventure forward on one's soul path.

Follow-up MariEL sessions (each an hour in length) are recommended for probing to a deeper level of cellular memory and healing of the emotional body. Several energy modalities are incorporated at the time of each session which may include CranioSacral therapy, vibrational sound therapy (including music and tuning forks), chelation techniques and Reiki. This process may require one or several visits, depending on the energy blocks and the body's determination to let go and move through these blockages. The benefits of an energy tune-up include bringing the body back into homeostasis, a situation where body, mind and spirit are functioning in harmony with one another, creating balance in all systems of the body. This work induces a general sense of well-being and an accelerated sense of energy on all levels.
In my practice of MariEL I have witnessed many wonderful transformations that have taken place in the clients who have found their way into experiencing this modality. I believe that in our culture we have been encouraged and conditioned to forget the feminine essence in ourselves, men included.
Since the feminist movement of the sixties, our peoples have moved from a place of analyzing every move we make to the most minute detail, a paradoxically masculine tendency. The energy of MariEL moves us back into the feminine, coming from the heart of the Mother to that of unconditional love and compassion. Working from that perspective enables us to view our lives from a place of feelings and intuition, getting us back into the emotional body in a healthy way rather than only experiencing the emotions in their extremes.

To me, MariEL, or the energy of the Divine Feminine, is not only reflected in the image of Mary. The Divine Feminine is represented as the Moon, Isis, Quan Yin, the Native American Grandmother shown on this MariEL page, the rose, the color blue as seen in this print - to name a few - and any other loving and compassionate image or form in which She may choose to appear to myself or others.

Kwan Yin is a synchretic deity who stands at the meeting place of two great archetypal rivers: the very ancient Chinese Great Mother and the Bodhisattva of Compassion, who appears elsewhere as a masculine figure.

She is also one of those very rare deities who quietly belong to several religions at once. Always changing, always Herself, her image can be seen on Buddhist shrines throughout the world as well as in Taoist places of worship. Her calm gaze watches over countless ancestors on Confucianist shrines in China, Shintoist shrines in Japan, often found close to Her own.

As the Great Mother, Her compassion radiates in harmony with the blessings of Tibetan Tara, African Yemaya or South-American Virgén de Guadalupe.

All over the world, women have always prayed to the Great Mother for the healing of a sick child or to find solace from life's troubles. Always She hears, and Her Presence consoles the griving, cools the burning brow, relieves the pain. Kwan Yin means "She who hears the cries of sentient beings."

In Tibet, She becomes He: Chenrezig, "Loving Eyes". One of his representations shows him with a thousand arms forming a mandala around him in his endeavour to help all sentient beings who call for His help.

In Her sanctuary, Kwan Yin awaits you. In Her hands she holds the vessel of nectar which She pours on the world's suffering. The wheel of Her mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, revolves infinitely, emanating light in all directions. Take the time to bow before Her and allow your heart to express its sincere wish. Allow Her subtle presence to reach out to you.

It's perfectly all right to ask for oneself, but isn't it even sweeter to ask for a loved one?
